Angelo Pilloni
Angelo PilloniDriven by a desire to rebuild a past whith which his fellow people could identify, his murals reproduce scenes of rural live: farmers at work, folk festivals and antique agriculture equipment. He creates his works using the “Trompe l’oeil” technique with characteristic elements of old Campidanese homes and their wood portals, small windows and mud brick walls. In 1993, he contributed to two murals in Stuttgart where the following year, the Italian Embassy organised an exhibition of his easel works. In 1994, he organised a theoretical hands-on course to teach young artists of San Sperate the art of mural painting with the objective of transmitting his knowledge and acquired experience in intensive artistic activities. In recent years, he has been supervising the mural constructions in San Sperate and not only does he contribute to the new murals, but he also helps with the restoration and preservation of existing works.
